Rossel makes history and dedicates his title to Peru

On Saturday night in Lima, he defeated the Mexican José Alberto Rodríguez by decision.
 
Saturday night was historical for Peruvian boxing, thanks to Alberto Rossel’s triumph by Unanimous Decision in the Coliseum Dibos Dammert, in Peru.

Rossel defeated the undefeated the favorite, undefeated José Alberto Rodríguez, with a record of 28 wins with 17 ko’s. The score cards ended 118-110, 115-113 and 116-112.

“Chiquito” kept the WBA minimum Interim belt, became the first Champion of his country, and now shares that honor with Kina Malpartida, who is the World Boxing Association Female Super Featherweight World Champion.

Rossel, with a record of 28 wins and 8 defeats said when stepping down the ring, “I dedicate this title to Peru, my family and my friends, my daughter and all the people who have been with me. I am very happy”. 
 
He also said, “God has touched me, I participated in the Olympic Games, I have 170 fights and 2 World Title fights and I did not wanted this one to slip away. Peru is a land of champions, I am a World Champion and Peru is a world champion.

He thanked the unconditional support of his compatriots to whom he dedicated his triumph.

La noche del sábado venció por decisión al peleador mexicano José Alberto Rodríguez, en Lima.

La noche del sábado fue histórica para el boxeo peruano, gracias al triunfo por tarjetas que consiguió el boxeador limeño Alberto Rossel, en el Coliseo Dibos Dammert, de la capital peruana.
Rossel venció al amplio favorito, e invicto mexicano, José Alberto Rodríguez, quien tenía 28 trifulcas ganadas con 17 adormecidos. Las tarjetas fueron de 118-110, 115-113 y 116-112.

“Chiquito” se quedó con el cinturón interino mini mosca de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo, y se convirtió en el primer campeón de su país, y ahora comparte el honor con la púgil Kina Malpartinda quien reina en el peso superpluma del mismo ente.

Al bajar del ring, Rossel, quien cuenta con record de 28 ganadas con 8 derrotas,  dijo “este título va para el Perú entero, para toda mi familia y mis amigos, a mi hija y a todos los que estuvieron conmigo. Estoy muy feliz”.

También recalcó que: “Dios me ha tocado, participé en los Juegos Olímpicos, tengo 170 peleas y dos por peleas mundiales, pero esta vez no quería que se me vaya, el Perú se respeta, es tierra de campeones, yo soy campeón mundial y el Perú es campeón mundial”.

No dejó de agradecer el respaldo incondicional de sus paisanos, a quienes en reiteradas oportunidades les brindó el logro conseguido.
