Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, president of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and Ching Kuo Wu, president of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) held a rewarding meeting last Friday after the final day of the Pre-Olympic Tournament that took place in Vargas, Venezuela amongst professional fighters.

“In the WBA we have always been open to the changes that happen in favor of professional boxing and we believe in dialog as the most appropriate means to reach accords. I consider that the meeting with Mr. Wu was very productive, since we have common views on how to improve this sport”, said Mendoza.

On the other side, Mr Wu affirmed: “The Pre-Olympic Tournament that took place in Venezuela will undoubtedly mark a change in our sport by letting the fighters that participated opt for a spot in Rio 2016.
