One Down, Two to go - Braekhus vs. Mia St. John(JAN 25) WBAN learned early this morning on “Facebook” that Cecilia Braekhus will be fighting one of three challengers that went public to get a match with her.   Just to get boxing fans up to speed.  In December of 2012, Braekhus video’d her public challenge to Holly Holm to set up a fight in  Las Vegas, as she was planning to be in Vegas in July.  In the Youtube video Braekhus officially calls out Holly Holm.  go here  Holm responded and accepted the challenge.

We then had multi-world champion Layla McCarter, who fights out of Las Vegas, put in her challenge to Braekhus:  Team McCarter said in their challenge:  “Cecilia Braekhus is coming to Las Vegas in July.   Well, Let’s do this.   Layla McCarter is ready to knock you out. We are here.   Let’s get it on….We are officially challenge you!”

Well ask, and you shall receive!  We now have confirmation that the fight is official.   Cecilia Braekhus will be fighting Mia St. John on April 13, 2013, at the Arena Nord, in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

WBAN just received this update from the WBC:

The WBC has told Braekhus’ promoter Sauerland Events and Holm’s promoter Fresquez Productions to commence negotiations with a pending purse bid if the parties are unable to reach an agreement for a Braekhus vs Holly Holm match up. The fight against St. John will be considered a voluntary defense (WBC) as Braekhus’ fight against Anne Sophie Mathis fulfilled her mandatory obligation.
