Knockout CP Freshmart will defend his interim WBA World minimumweight title against Alexis Diaz over a scheduled 12 rounds in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, this Thursday, July 2.

Fighting out of Surin, Thailand, 24-year-old Freshmart is a three-year pro (10-0, 5 KOs) who won the title by decisioning Carlos Buitrago in October 2014. He most recently fought in March, decisioning Muhammad Rachman in his first title defense.

Twenty-eight-year-old Diaz (16-0, 10 KOs) has been fighting out of Zulia, Venezuela, since 2011, winning the vacant WBA Fedelatin minimumweight title by retiring Jorle Estrada in the fifth in May 2014. “Erguito” defended the title in August 2014, decisioning Armando Vazquez, and in his most recent bout, stopping Luis De la Rosa by first-round TKO in October 2014.
