The first fight for Carlos Canizales as World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Flyweight Champion will be at the unbeatable Axiata Arena, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, against a rival difficult to decipher in Bin Lu of China.  The fight will be in the middle of an incredible atmosphere as part of the undercard that will have Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse in the main event.

Canizales arrived in Malaysia last weekend, close to the weight limit and very motivated for his first defense to be carried out. On one end you have a rival with a single professional fight, but also with an amateur record that has earned him a spot for a title fight so soon.

Both fighters were in the last press conference, where they gave their opinions on the fight that will put them face to face in the ring and showed the desire they have to obtain the victory.

“I feel very happy because it’s the first time I’m on a card like this with well known fighters such as Pacquiao and Matthysse. I take this fight as equal to any other, I am ready to be victorious. I know he has a great career as an amateur, but this is the professional ranks. I’m not going to disparage him, obviously, because he’s a good fighter, “said Canizales.

Lu was champion of the Aiba Pro Boxing (APB) circuit, a competition created by the Aiba in which amateur fighters meet professionals in 10-round fights without headgear and who distribute slots to the Olympic Games. Lu is one of the emerging talents of his country and will be in a trial by fire in which he will show if he is ready to beat a world champion already.

Canizales has won 20 bouts, has no losses, and has one tie on his record. Lu won his only professional fight by knockout.
