The WBA Heavyweight World Champion and also the IBF and WBO Champion, Mexican Andy “Destroyer” Ruiz met again in New York on Thursday with the dethroned English boxer Anthony “AJ” Joshua on the second stop of their Media Tour that began on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia.

Ruiz emphasized that he will defeat Joshua again, for whom he exhibited absolute respect. “I don’t want to say yes by knockout or points, but I will confirm that my victory was not luck but the result of hard work and discipline,” said the Mexican-born fighter.

As expected, the New York hotel Capitale received a large battery of journalists who had many questions.

Joshua said he had no excuses for the setback he suffered last June 1st at Madison Square Garden in the very same city and said that he has raised his commitment to recover the crowns in Arab territory, where the rematch has taken hold.

“We already started working in the gym. Andy is an exceptional fighter, he achieved the better performance that night but I am sure that until December 7th he will maintain his status.” Joshua said.

This Friday the tour will have its final stop in London and both boxers will enter fully into the training phase when there are just over three months left until the duel.

Promoter Eddie Hearn was accompanied at this second stop of the Media Tour by important personalities from Saudi Arabia and said that the organization of the event will be first class, at the height of a fight of this caliber.

The event will be broadcast exclusively through the DAZN platform. Champion Andy Ruiz will be entering the fight with a record of 33 wins, 1 loss, and 22 knockouts. Challenger Anthony Joshua will be entering the fight with a record of 22 wins, 1 loss, and 21 knockouts.
