WBA Press. December 28. The World Boxing Association completed a hard year of work with the firm intention to keep the message of its social program KO Drugs, held in Venezuela and Jamaica in 2012.

In Maracay, where of a boxing card was held in April, Venezuelans Ogleidis “La Niña” Suarez and Liborio Solis managed to retain their interim Featherweight and Super Flyweight belts respectively. Those were the main fights of the Boxing program where other five fights took place.

Don King attended the activity and thanked the opportunity to visit Venezuela one more time, and stated to be always ready to support the KO Drugs program to promote the sports and avoid vices.

In Jamaica, there was another program under the name of KO Drugs on December 8, where the Venezuelan Alys “La China” Sanchez conquered the WBA Interim Super Bantamweight belt, and the Peruvian Kina Malpartida made her seventh Super Featherweight title defense. In the same card the host Nicholas Walters credited the regular featherweight title, and became the first Jamaican to do so in his own backyard when he knocked out the Colombian Daulis Prescott in the National Indoor Sports Center, of Kingston.

The event was a musical festival combined with exciting fights that kept the public focused to the actions.

This year also, there was another innovation in Panama, a KO Drugs 5 and 10 kilometer race with the participation of boxers, managers Directors of the WBA family.

The traditional Annual Convention was held this year in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the usual Medical and Official Seminar to modernize the WBA human resourse During the different working sessions the WBA committees presented their reports, and there was also a boxing show where the Venezuelan Yonfrez Parejo won the WBA Bantamweight Intercontinental title.
